Competitive selection of rural districts to participate in the Project “Citizen Initiative for Economic and social Rights Protection”

The Project “Citizen Initiative for Economic and social Rights Protection” is directed to involve the publicity into the processes of territory planning on community level as well as to support civic initiatives aimed to increase the citizen impact in local policy-making in the field of land planning and territory development. Ensuring wide dialogue between state, publicity and business on these issues will enhance realization of citizen economic and social rights.

The Project is being realized by CCC Creative Center in partnership with Civil Society Institute with financial support of European Community.

The activities planned within the Project include:

• Conducting analysis on citizen economic and social rights protection in relation to land issues
• Conducting trainings for community activists and public authorities from three selected rural districts to increase their skills in advocacy and involving publicity into policy making in the field of territory planning
• Providing legal support to citizens and local authorities from selected districts in solving issues connected with land legal relations and building
• Providing grant support to rural community initiatives on developing general layouts, providing grant support to local NGOs to increase citizen impact in local policy making related to territory planning and development
• Printing and dissemination of the Manual on the best practices of citizen economic and social rights protection in the field of land legal relations.

Project timeframe – March 2009 – March 2011.

Three rural districts from different regions of Ukraine will be selected to participate in the Project. The priority will be given to proposals from Luhans'k, Odesa, Khmel'nytzky and Ternopil' oblasts.

In order to take part in the competition the printed proposal application in fixed form with the necessary amendments must be submitted.

The proposal must be submitted by local CSO in the partnership with district state administration and district council. The CSO submitting proposal is required to be legalized in this district or to act constantly on its area (to have its delegation, office etc.)

The filled application form and all the amendments must be sent by mail (recommended letter) or currier to: CCC Creative Center, Bazhana prosp. 30, ap. 8, Kyiv 02140 Ukraine with the mark "Competitive selection of rural districts to participate in the Project “Citizen Initiative for Economic and social Rights Protection”.

The mentioned documents must be delivered to the CCC office not later then August 3rd, 2009, 17 p,m. The postal stamp will not be taken into account while identifying the date. The document received by fax, e-mail, or by mail after the mentioned deadline will not be accepted.
