As a result of the program grant support has been given to 13 NGO projects being implemented during 1997-1999.

  • To organize 15 active Center members internship in ten-day summer Volunteer School managed by the Kyiv youth union Compass.

Psychological Assistance for Refugees' Families and Persons Seeking Refuge in Kyiv

  • To create a mechanism of women and refugee families rehabilitation and adaptation (based on the results of meetings with women refugee organizations leaders, and on prior consultations giving).
  • To conduct individual conversations aimed at the state diagnostics, disadaptation factors and possible stabilization measures identification.
  • To create mutual aid groups among refugees themselves, leaders identification and their training.
  • To conduct psychological trainings in order to work out skills of conflict situations settlement.
  • To hold cultural actions involving women who are the members of Grace Club, and their families as well as female refugees' families.
  • To prepare professional information materials based on consulting and trainings; to enrich the information materials with conclusions and proposals to corresponding ministries and departments responsible for refugees' rehabilitation assistance.

Refugees' Families and Children Adaptation and Integration into Ukrainian Society

  • To create two groups of refugee children (10-15 children in each), and to conduct free sports sanitary classes by the program Cherry in Blossom twice a week.
  • To organize computer courses for refugee children (once a week).
  • To provide consultations for parents of children engaged in the program with representatives of power structures (the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, municipality and district administration, education department, and health department).
  • To hold a sports holiday for the Ukrainian children studying at the Center and for refugee children once in three months during the Project implementation term.

  • To prepare rooms of Education Centre of Refugees Professional Retraining.
  • To teach 30 people of refugees how to master a computer (5 groups of 6 people each three times a week for 2 hours).
  • To teach joinery to 14 people (2 groups of 7 people each for 2,5 months 6 hours a day) and sewing to 10 people (2 groups of 5 people each for 2,5 months 6 hours a day) on the basis of education rehabilitation workshops of The Way Home Fund.
  • To give assistance to people, who have passed through professional retraining in job placement.

100% Crimean Citizenship for Crimean Tatars of Bakhchisaray district who has been Deported in the Past

  • To create a working team for the campaign 100% Ukrainian citizenship for previously departed Crimean Tatars of Bakhchisaray district
  • To conduct a training seminar devoted to campaign's objective, conditions and methodology interpretation; and to passport service demands to citizenship documents for members of local citizenship working groups.
  • To identify the Crimean Tatars homes; people with the Uzbek citizenship, those who have lost such citizenship, and those who have other CIS citizenship by means of working team visits.
  • To provide consultative assistance in citizenship application documents infill; to pass citizenship documents to registration bodies.
  • To organize local official registration of filled application forms and other documents necessary for registration.

Setting Stable Performance of Legal Consulting Center

  • To conduct a one-day round table for state representatives, NGOs, refugees themselves, and mass media of Lviv oblast (all in all 50 participants). Discussion topic is considered as the Center activity presentation and possibility of coordination with other structures (state as well as non-state ones).
  • To create a data bank of refugees needs in Lviv oblast, and those organizations which could give assistance to them.
  • To publish and to distribute information leaflets for refugees (in Russian, English, French, Arabian, Kurdish, Dari) in A3 format and by 1000 copies in each language.
  • To conduct consultations for refugees twice a week
  • To organize a system of refugees' interests representation in courts and during intercourse with law machinery.
